Magic The Gathering; Drafting, Ten Tips.
In the past 3 days i’ve had the lucky opportunity to visit 2 different comic / collector conventions. Which means there has been a whole lot of MTG play. Several times, friends, or people i’ve met along the way have sat down to play some draft.
I’m no big drafter myself, but I can safely say after 5 or 6 drafts, I’ve come up with my top 10 tips for a sucessful draft. And...

The hardest part about teaching someone to play MTG or indeed learning yourself, is decidely what you consider to be a good card, and what you don’t. Trying to understand, the cost of the card, how good a cards effect is, what situation its good in, all these things are seriously difficult.
Lets take the most simple of cards.

Receive mail tomorrow and get to the bank.
Get my blood test results back.

Go out friday night.

Go to my cousins birthday on sunday.
Work monday.

I've been talking to my Nan a lot recently.
She lives in scotland, and its nice, we’ve never had what i’d call a particularly close relationship.
But lately its been phonecalls every other day.
Which is lovely.
But, in typicaly Nan fashion, shes decided to “Help me out”.
I’m expected to receive a letter in the post tomorrow containing £200-£250.

I went and got my blood test done, my damn arm maintains its irritated state.
I went into town, purchased a dump load of stationary and equipment for my camera project.
Then proceeded to spend 40 minutes in WHSmith picking books, ended up with The Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchett, a copy of The Hobbit by Tolkien, and the black edition of Deathnote...

Constructed, in MTG terms, means any format in which you create your deck prior to the event. As opposed to formats such as draft or limited, in which you create a deck from booster packs.

Been meaning to get back into MTG for ages. Last played about 4 or 5 years ago. Any changes I should be made aware of?
Theres no changes to the core game mechanics.
However there are new key word abilities, more card types.
Just general small changes that affect the metagame, as opposed to the game itself.
